Who should regulate RX Cannabis?:

Consumer Protection & RX Cannabis

For way too long, governments at all levels have failed to properly regulate the rapidly growing RX Cannabis industry. With that in mind, we at RXCannabis.com firmly believe that Consumer Protection should be incorporated in this subject.

How and in what ways? Simple, in every way possible - after all, consumers are the key to every industry, and to not provide Cannabis users with 'consumer protection' would be a shame. So what should they be provided with?

That depends on the state - in my state, California the following needs to be done (note: this is not an all inclusive list):

  • Prescription concepts need to be tightened up
  • Product labeling needs to be standardized
  • Those who sell product, from employees to owners, need to be registered and bonded
  • Scales: they need to be standardized and the Department of Weights and Measures need to ensure that the scales work properly
  • As California's Attorney General pointed out - the clubs need to be Not For Profit in nature

This is just a short list, and I am sure it will grow over time. To support what we are doing, conceptually, we will be not only outlining what needs to be done, and what is being done, but more importantly, provide consumers with a proactive agenda of legislative proposals that will ensure consumer protection concepts are brought into this industry.
